Ms Donna Ah Chee
Central Australia Aboriginal Congress
Ms Ah Chee is a Bundjalung woman from the far north coast of NSW. Ms Ah Chee has been living in Alice Springs for the last 20 years after marrying into a local Arrernte/Luritja family.
She has been involved in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Affairs for over 25 years, having mainly worked in the Aboriginal community controlled sector heading up the Institute for Aboriginal Development an adult education institution and more recently as the Deputy Director of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care service in Alice Springs.
Ms Ah Chee co chaired the development of the NT Alcohol Framework on behalf of the Northern Territory Government and also participated as a Congress representative on the Steering Committee overseeing the review of Secondary Education in the NT. Donna currently represents Congress on the Alice Springs Alcohol Reference Panel that oversees the implementation of the local Alcohol Management and Supply Plans.
She has also been a board member on the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) and is involved in policy development on Aboriginal health for the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance of the NT (AMSANT).
